Saturday in the Historic Complex with Music and Glass

19 May 2025

The museums of the Community of Madrid celebrated this Saturday, 17 May, “Museum Day and Night”.

First, the concert “Flowers of music. Suites and sonatas”, performed by “Ars Combinatoria”, took place. It was a journey through 18th-century music that complemented the exhibition “Echoes of the Baroque. The soundtrack of Goyeneche’s Madrid”. It was held at 12:30 p.m. in the Church of San Francisco Javier. Pieces from the early 18th century by Spanish composers such as Antonio Martín y Coll and Juan de Ledesma were performed. The venue created a perfect atmosphere for the music, something the audience—who filled the whole church—greatly appreciated.

Later in the evening, the workshop and demonstration “Masters of the Royal Factory of La Granja in Nuevo Baztán” was held. It was another opportunity to see the blown-glass technique up close. From 9:00 p.m., in front of Juan de Goyeneche Palace, master artisans from the Royal Glass Factory of La Granja came to our town. As always, it is a pleasure to enjoy the art of glassmaking in our streets.

These activities were organised by the Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport; the Directorate-General for Culture and Creative Industries; the Subdirectorate-General for Fine Arts; and the Nuevo Baztán Interpretation Centre. The Nuevo Baztán Town Council and the Royal Glass Factory of La Granja collaborated.
