In Nuevo Baztán we know the full names of those who were the main figures in shaping this groundbreaking idea: Juan de Goyeneche as the driving force behind the project, with the support of Charles II and Philip V in his mission.

The migration of a Navarrese entrepreneur with revolutionary thinking of French origin. The death of a king without heirs, seeking a solution to the decline of his crown. The new king who, amid the war of European dynasties to hold the throne in Spain, would find in Nuevo Baztán support for his cause and the autonomy of the Spanish crown.
