Nuevo Baztán prepares to celebrate the 303rd anniversary of its founding

9 September 2026

Nuevo Baztán is once again getting ready to commemorate one of the most important dates in its history. To mark the 303rd anniversary of the founding of Nuevo Baztán, the town will host the “Fiestas de la Fundación” (Founding Celebrations) during the second weekend of October, bringing a lively programme and festive atmosphere to its Historic Quarter.

Ahead of the announcement of the full programme for the celebrations, the Tourism Department of Nuevo Baztán Town Council is inviting artisans, creators and exhibitors to take part in one of the events whose dates have already been confirmed: a new edition of the “Mercado de Palacio” (Palace Market).

On 10, 11 and 12 October, the gardens opposite the Juan de Goyeneche Palace will once again become a showcase for craftsmanship, creativity and handmade products.

The Mercado de Palacio will be one of the highlights of this special weekend, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy an event that brings together craftsmanship, creativity and heritage in one of Nuevo Baztán’s most iconic settings.

If you are an artisan, creator or exhibitor and would like to take part in the Mercado de Palacio, joining is easy.
