On 10, 11 and 12 October, our municipality will celebrate the Foundation of the Parish of Nuevo Baztán, dedicated to Saint Francis Xavier. Here is a summary of the activities. Download the programme leaflet to discover the full schedule of the Foundation celebrations.

Saturday 10 October

• 11:00 am. Opening of the Palace Market and “Paint Your Palace” workshop with Antonio Español.
• 11:30 am. Guided tour of the Historic Complex and street theatre performance, “The Plague Doctors”.
• 12:30 pm. Participatory theatre show, “The Treasure Hunt”.
• 2:00 pm. Tasting of potatoes with chistorra sausage in the Church Square.
• 5:00 pm. Parade of musicians and noblemen.
• 8:00 pm. Participatory children’s battle.
• 9:00 pm. Fire show and traditional queimada celebration.

Sunday 11 October

• 11:00 am. Welcome parade and opening of the market.
• 12:00 pm. Theatrical guided tour of the Torture Exhibition.
• 12:30 pm. Solemn Mass marking the 303rd anniversary at the Church of Saint Francis Xavier.
• 2:00 pm. Tasting of migas, organised by the Senior Citizens’ Centre.
• 5:00 pm. Parade of musicians and street procession.
• 6:00 pm. Puppet theatre show, “The Fairy of the Cave”.
• 9:00 pm. Fire show and traditional queimada celebration.

Monday 12 October

• 11:00 am. Opening of the market, workshops, children’s attractions and exhibitions.
• 11:30 am. Theatrical guided tour of the Spanish Military Camp.
• 12:00 pm. Puppet theatre show.
• 1:00 pm. Live music and participatory workshop on period dances.
• 2:00 pm. Street theatre and participatory children’s battle.
• 3:00 pm. Farewell parade with period music and dances.
