Nuevo Baztán will be one of the featured municipalities at Open House Madrid 2025, a benchmark international event in the world of architecture and the city, whose dates will coincide with World Tourism Day, next Saturday 27 September.

This invitation recognises the enormous historical and cultural value of Nuevo Baztán—declared a Historic-Artistic Site and a Site of Cultural Interest—and the work carried out in recent years to promote its heritage and strengthen its identity as a distinctive tourist destination within the Las Vegas and Alcarria Madrileña region and within the Community of Madrid itself. Together with Loeches, we were the only municipalities in the Community of Madrid chosen to participate in this international event.

Every year, Open House Madrid opens the doors of emblematic buildings and spaces usually closed to the public, bringing architecture and heritage closer to thousands of visitors and professionals.

In this edition—where all reservations to visit these venues sold out in just ten minutes—Nuevo Baztán will showcase its architectural and urban richness, the result of an ambitious urban and industrial project from the early 18th century, a unique model in Europe that still inspires admiration beyond our borders.

Nuevo Baztán’s inclusion in this event gives a boost to the municipal strategy of sustainable and cultural tourism, which seeks not only to preserve our heritage legacy, but also to energise the town’s economic and social life through local commerce and hospitality.

At present, we are managing the Tourism Sustainability Plan for the Destination, funded by Next Generation EU. In this way, Nuevo Baztán is consolidating itself as a tourist and cultural reference point in the Community of Madrid, strengthening its profile nationally and internationally and reaffirming its commitment to sharing and protecting heritage of extraordinary historic value.
