On 1 October, Nuevo Baztán joins the national celebration of the Day of The Most Beautiful Villages in Spain, a day that pays tribute to the 122 municipalities that form part of this prestigious network, recognised for their beauty, heritage and authenticity.

Our village, a proud member of this Association, reminds us today that villages are not only beautiful places: they are living communities that safeguard our history, our traditions and our way of understanding life. They are the soul of Spain.

From Nuevo Baztán Town Council we want to use this date to call for policies that bring life to our villages. We defend the primary sector as a driver of sustainability; we support responsible tourism that respects our environment; we demand decent communications and transport that connect without uprooting; and we work for a strong local economy that keeps our identity alive. Today we celebrate our villages, but we also commit to their future. Because caring for villages is caring for life, culture and Spain’s identity.
