Yesterday (Wednesday) FITUR was inaugurated by Their Majesties the King and Queen. Once again, Nuevo Baztán has a stand at this very important tourism fair. It is located in Pavilion 9, Stand 9A09, “La Alcarria Madrileña Loeches-Nuevo Baztán”, next to the Community of Madrid stand. 

Yesterday was very intense, with many official events to which our municipality was invited, as well as presentations of new projects for 2025. Mayor Gemma Pacheco, accompanied by the councillors of her Government Team attended different events within the fair. For example, the presentation of the permanence diplomas to the 7 new towns that have joined the Association of The Most Beautiful Villages in Spain. There was also a Cicla Madrid meeting at the Community of Madrid stand, and the visit of the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sport, Mr Mariano de Paco Serrano, to our stand. 

In the afternoon it was our turn to present, in our space, a cooking workshop entitled “Vizcochos Alfónsigos”. Live, this very sweet recipe was explained, cooked and tasted. This led on to the Community of Madrid stand presenting a new Project to recover 18th-century recipes in Nuevo Baztán. Gemma Pacheco presented this project, which began this year with the GOYENECHEF workshops and will lead to the publication of a recipe book from the 18th century in 2025. In addition, after the presentation it was possible to taste some of the dishes prepared in these workshops, accompanied by wines from our local winery “El Cuarto Lote”. 

Thursday’s programme also looks very interesting. Important meetings within wine tourism in the Community of Madrid (enotourism), and the official act of Nuevo Baztán joining ARACOVE, flying the flag for La Alcarria Madrileña.
