With the commitment to continue bringing live culture to every corner of the region, the Escenas de Verano Festival returns from 4 July to 7 September with a renewed cultural programme that will reach 158 municipalities in the Community of Madrid. Performing Arts in Municipalities, Clásicos en Verano concerts, the San Lorenzo Festival and Arte Vivo en la Plaza are some of the must‑see events within a multidisciplinary festival that also makes room for exhibitions in halls and museums, open‑air cinema cycles and workshops for the whole family.

Reflecting the festival’s artistic diversity, the 2025 programme is organised into nine cultural proposals designed to bring performing arts, music, cinema and visual arts to towns across the region.

Nuevo Baztán will be one of the venues, hosting the 37th edition of Clásicos en Verano. This cycle continues its commitment to decentralising classical music, taking it to unique heritage spaces in around 70 municipalities — cloisters, monasteries and churches. Our town will host two concerts at San Francisco Javier Church:

11 July | 20:30 – VIVALMA ENSEMBLE. Miroirs: from admiration to creation.

“Miroirs” explores the play of influences and tributes between composers, styles and eras — from the reflections between Forqueray, Marais, Rameau or Leclair to extra‑musical inspirations such as the sound of bells or the Folía. The programme shows how creation is transformed by looking into the other: a dialogue between memory and invention, virtuosity, emotion and resonances that cross centuries.

18 July | 20:30 – TRÍO MERIAN. The Modern Age.

Formed by three passionate chamber music performers, the Merian string trio honours the memory and legacy of the German‑Swiss scientist, explorer and painter Maria Sibylla Merian. A pioneer in the study of insects, she showed that beauty and artistic expression go hand in hand with scientific rigour. With “The Modern Age”, the trio offers a journey through music from the first half of the 20th century — a testament to social, political and cultural movements.

In this way, Escenas de Verano is a unique commitment by the regional government of the Community of Madrid to sustainable tourism and cultural decentralisation through an open, free and diverse programme — promoted by the Community of Madrid in collaboration with the Nuevo Baztán Town Council.
