This Friday 11 July a new weekend full of culture begins in our municipality, as part of the Nuevo Baztán Summers programme. Three events you won’t want to miss to enjoy music, cinema and art in unique settings.

Friday 18 | 20:30 | TRÍO MERIAN – The Modern Age. Formed by three passionate chamber music performers, the Merian string trio honours the memory and legacy of the German‑Swiss scientist, explorer and painter Maria Sibylla Merian. A pioneer in the study of insects, she showed that beauty and artistic expression go hand in hand with scientific rigour. With the programme “The Modern Age”, the trio presents a journey through music from the first half of the 20th century. Their music bears witness to the social, political and cultural movements of the time.

Friday 11 | 22:00 | Summer Cinema “Guardiana de Dragones” (animated film for all audiences), approx. 90 min. Dark times in imperial China: dragons, once wise allies of humans, have been hunted for years and locked in dungeons. In a remote mountain fortress, a girl helps the last dragon escape and joins him on an exciting mission to recover the most precious treasure: the last dragon egg.

Saturday 18 | 22:00 | Plaza de Fiestas – Show “Transeúntes” by Josete Ordoñez. An audiovisual show built on two elements: the guitar and early 20th‑century cinema. Enjoy scenes by Buster Keaton and Chaplin, among others, accompanied by original compositions — a unique “film concert”. Josete Ordoñez, a guitarist who has worked with artists such as Rosario Flores, Manolo García and David Bisbal, presents his new project.
