As part of the Foundation Festivities, Nuevo Baztán is adding a new exhibition to its cultural programme, inviting visitors to discover the municipality from a different perspective.

“Nuevo Baztán by Anderson Romero” will open on Friday, 9 October, and can be visited until 29 November at the Palace Exhibition Rooms.

The exhibition invites visitors to pause and observe. The artist shifts his focus away from the town’s major monuments to concentrate on the small details that shape everyday life: the texture of an old window, worn chairs in the square, the shadow of a neighbour reading in a café or trees that seem to hold stories.

It is an invitation to slow down, look carefully and discover that beauty can also be found in simplicity—in the things that form part of our daily lives and that, precisely because they are so familiar, often go unnoticed.

At 28 years old, Anderson Romero discovered his passion for painting during childhood, although he set his vocation aside for several years. One year ago, he decided to change direction and dedicate himself to art full-time.

This decision led to “Viajar para Pintar”—“Travelling to Paint”—a project through which the artist has travelled across and portrayed all 179 municipalities of the Community of Madrid, capturing each one through his distinctive vision in oil and acrylic.

On this occasion, his gaze turns to Nuevo Baztán, its corners, its people and the small details that shape the municipality’s identity and everyday life.

The exhibition offers a new opportunity to discover Nuevo Baztán through the eyes of an artist, revealing perspectives and details that may have previously gone unnoticed.
