Valmores Trail

Valmores Trail

Description

The Senda Valmores route begins at the exit of the town next to an old watering trough and near the current industrial expansion area of Nuevo Baztán.

This path runs through representative terrains of the typical physiognomy of the southeastern region of the Community, characterized by the presence of wide plateaus or flat-topped alcarrias between which the Henares, Jarama, and Tajuña rivers have carved their valleys. It has great ecological value due to its flora and especially its fauna, with a variety of birds such as bustards, owls, or the red kite, as well as mammals like dormice, roe deer, and genets.

The complete circular route is approximately five hours but can be shortened at the junction with the Olmeda road. It is a gentle path with few slopes, fully marked and signposted, allowing easy enjoyment of the natural environment. Along the route, some industrial ruins can be observed. Due to its route without intermediate populations, it is advisable to bring water and food, and avoid the central hours.
