It is common to find extras, cameras, props&#8230; turning the Historic Complex into a genuine film set.<\/p>\n<p>The Community of Madrid&#8217;s Film Office, &#8220;Film Madrid&#8221;, includes Nuevo Bazt\u00e1n among the towns selected to encourage and promote filming within the Community of Madrid. This office, created with the aim of supporting the audiovisual industry by collaborating with Spanish and foreign audiovisual producers, as well as with professionals across the sector, developed a location database for shoots that includes urban and natural spaces of incalculable heritage and landscape value.<\/p>\n<figure itemscope itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/ImageObject\">\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/turismo.ayto-nuevobaztan.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/promocion-exposicion-cinematografica.jpg\" alt=\"promocion exposicion cinematografica\" height=\"1024\" width=\"768\" title=\"promocion exposicion cinematografica\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n\t<\/figure>\n<h3>\n\t\t\tFar West Territory\t<\/h3>\n\t<p>The Community of Madrid has created its own film route featuring the main Western-related film sets, covering more than 30 municipalities. Of the four routes organised by the region, the Eastern Route includes Torremocha de Jarama, Talamanca de Jarama, Algete, Daganzo de Arriba, Alcal\u00e1 de Henares and Nuevo Bazt\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p>Ennio Morricone, Sergio Leone and Terence Hill (El Genio, 1975), or Alain Delon (El Zorro, 1975) are some of the faces that could be seen in Nuevo Bazt\u00e1n in the 1970s. Other Spaghetti Westerns filmed here include &#8220;The Return of the Magnificent Seven&#8221; (1966, directed by Burt Kennedy), &#8220;Sugar Colt&#8221; (1966, directed by Franco Giraldi), &#8220;The Mercenary&#8221; (1968, by Sergio Corbucci), &#8220;The Crazy Bunch&#8221; (1975, Enzo G. Castellari) or &#8220;The Three Musketeers&#8221; (Richard Lester, 1973)<\/p>\n<p>Most of them showcased Plaza de Fiestas, the Palace, or some corners of the historic centre, whose intact appearance turned it into an international-level cinematic attraction.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.madrid.org\/filmmadrid\/descargas\/guia-territorio-farwest.pdf%20\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"    rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFar West Madrid brochure\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n<h3>\n\t\t\tFantastic Madrid\t<\/h3>\n\t<p>In addition, Nuevo Bazt\u00e1n is also part of the locations that served as settings for fantasy and horror films from the 1960s to the 1980s. This genre required unique spaces and locations, gloomy areas, and castles or distinctive buildings.<\/p>\n<p>To this end, the Community of Madrid produced a guide in which Nuevo Bazt\u00e1n appears on the Eastern Route thanks to the filming of the movie Ceremonia Sangrienta, directed by filmmaker Jorge Grau in 1973, an emblematic title of Spanish &#8220;fantaterror&#8221;.
