Promoting traditional crafts with two workshops during the European Crafts Week
6 April 2026
The Nuevo Baztán Town Council, through its Departments of Commerce and Tourism, is joining the European Crafts Week with two participatory workshops focused on showcasing traditional trades and the use of natural raw materials. These sessions offer a journey back to the origins of the town, highlighting crafts linked to its artisanal and industrial heritage.
The activities will take place on Saturday, April 11 at La Olma in Nuevo Baztán, in two time slots:
The first workshop will begin at 10:30 am, followed by a second session from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm, with a maximum capacity of 20 participants per workshop.
The first workshop, titled “Reconnect with Nature”, is part of the Kun-tu training programme and will invite participants to create a natural toner and serum using infusions of traditionally used plants such as lavender, along with natural oils and essences.
The second workshop, “From Plant to Cosmetic”, is a specially designed natural cosmetics session where participants will craft a botanical body oil and rosemary alcohol through plant maceration techniques using ingredients such as rosemary and thyme.
Both activities are open to participants aged 12 and over and require prior registration via the municipal events website https://eventos.ayto-nuevobaztan.es/, available from Tuesday at 12:00 pm.
Through these initiatives, the Town Council aims to highlight the value of traditional crafts and promote knowledge of artisanal techniques that form part of the local cultural heritage.
With this programme, Nuevo Baztán continues to promote culture, sustainability and community engagement through creative and educational experiences.
